Writing in a foreign language is often considered difficult. Although you have more time to formulate, the language and thus also possible errors are visibly fixed, whereas they are fleeting when speaking. You also cannot see the other person, so you cannot help with gestures and facial expressions. I don’t see any reactions as to whether the other person understands me. And sometimes you don’t even know who will end up reading the text. These uncertainty factors often make writing in German as a foreign language unpopular.
On the other hand, written language is often very formulaic, especially in formal and semi-formal situations such as at work. This makes writing easy to learn. Depending on the type of text (customer emails, meeting minutes, essay, article, blog) and addressee (own team, customers, authorities, public readership), a text follows certain criteria.
In our writing focus training, we concentrate on the types of text that are important to you. You will learn how to write good texts in German confidently and efficiently.
This course is aimed at adults with German as a foreign language who would like to improve their writing skills.
You will learn how to write relevant texts with confidence. They know the different types of text, their characteristics and the necessary formulations.

At the beginning of your training, we define your goals and create a suitable course plan.
A textbook can be used as well as our own materials. This depends, for example, on whether you want to work with your own thematic, e.g. professional, focus.
This is very difficult to estimate in general terms. If writing in German is generally not very difficult for you and you are confident in vocabulary and grammar, a smaller package with 10-20 units will probably suffice.
If you have greater linguistic uncertainty or if you still have little experience with written German, a medium or larger package of lessons makes sense.
The same applies here: if you have plenty of opportunities to practise alongside the course dates, this will greatly help your progress. If you don’t have these options, you need more time in training.
