I offer special technical language training for technical languages that are required in the workplace.
This course is aimed at adults with German as a foreign language who want to expand their vocabulary.
For example, if you have a new job as a graphic designer in a skincare company, it can be useful to familiarize yourself with the German terms and phrases used in the skincare sector in the short term.
Or you are interested in a particular sport or animals and would like to be able to talk about them.
You will learn to communicate better on certain topics by learning the relevant words and expressions.
You will learn words and expressions on topics that are not normally taught in normal language courses. Topics that are only relevant to a few people are not taught in course groups, as personal interests can naturally not be taken into account as much in a group.
Depending on your personal interest and previous knowledge, we will choose your subject areas so that you can systematically expand your vocabulary.
Depending on the choice of topic and previous knowledge, a textbook can be used or we can use our own materials.
This depends above all on how complex the topic is and how detailed you want to learn the subject area.
If you need an introduction to a new topic, a small package of 10 lessons is sufficient.
If the topic is very important to you personally and you want to deal with it in detail, longer, regular training sessions of one to three times a week over 3, 6 or 12 months can be useful.
And, of course, the extent also depends on how much time and energy you have to practise between appointments.
The vocabulary training in the focus course helps you to speak better about general topics because you are interested in something. For example, in a general language course you usually learn about the most important musical instruments. If you play the violin in your free time, you will probably want to talk a little more about musical topics. In focus training, we concentrate on the word fields of string instruments, reading music and describing music, for example.
If, on the other hand, you are a musicologist or violin maker, general music vocabulary is not enough. Here you need expressions for professional communication, e.g. on topics such as composition, acoustics or historical instruments. This is what you learn in our specialist language training.
